About

Hi! I’m Lauren. I’m the creator of cookprayeat jax.

Growing up in Southeast Missouri, my family was blessed with delicious home cooked food that my mom Connie would make for us almost every day.

That’s my mom!

As a teenager, I began watching the Food Network religiously and then would find myself going to Walmart to pick up the ingredients trying to make whatever I had just watched Bobby Flay, Giada or the Pioneer Woman cook. And my family enjoyed testing out the creations.

I loved to have my best friends over to make cookies or bake even at a young age.

Nowadays in the corporate world with work, I’m daydreaming as I make my coffee of what we should cook for the week. I want to help feed my family with meals we can remember and look back on and pass to future generations.

I’ve called Jacksonville, FL my home for about 8 years now and this city is a foodie’s paradise. My husband Stephen and I love to eat out and enjoy many different cuisines including Thai, Mediterranean, Japanese, Mexican, Italian, and Southern (American).

I could camp out in the cookbook section of the library for a whole afternoon. One of my favorite cooking shows is called Milk Street. I also love Molly Yeh from Iowa in Girl Meets Farm. My favorite cooking blog is Downshiftology with Lisa Bryan.

Dreaming of someday making a cookbook and it could be fun to have a cafe in the future. But I’m also just excited for me and little Zoe to be able to cook together too.
